
Award-Winning Filmmaker Alan Berliner to Receive Pennebaker Career Achievement Award at 2025 Hamptons Doc Fest.
Independent filmmaker Alan Berliner will be honored at the 2025 Hamptons Doc Fest on December 6 with the Pennebaker Career Achievement Award. Berliner’s remarkable career spans over five decades, distinguished by his intimate and artfully constructed films, including Nobody’s Business, Intimate Stranger, and his latest work, Benita.
Named in honor of documentary pioneer D.A. Pennebaker, the Pennebaker Career Achievement Award recognizes filmmakers whose work has made a lasting impact on the art of verisitic storytelling. Past recipients include acclaimed directors: Matthew Heineman, R.J. Cutler, and Michael Moore.
The award presentation and festival events will take place in Sag Harbor and Southampton, New York, celebrating the power and artistry of documentary filmmaking.
